Murcia has something to offer everyone, whether you are looking for historic architecture, beaches, modern shopping centres, beautiful countryside, or action packed holidays, you will find something for all of the family.
Murcia is renown for its history and rich cultural heritage. One of the local ports is Cartagena which has a Roman amphitheatre. For those warm Winter days, why not take a trip on a catamaran and cruise around sea from the Cartagena harbour. The sea provides a great vantage point for many of Murcia’s attractions such as the historic forts and hilltop castles.
Marcia offers the largest shopping centre in the region or you can visit the traditional weekly markets in one of the local towns and enjoy one of their lively fiestas.
If you head out towards Los Alcazares, past San Javier, Murcia Airport, you will find the Mar Menor Go Karts. This is an action packed way to spend the day and is great fun for all of the family. You can even sit back and watch the races with a cold drink bought at the track side café.
As you sit at one of the many al fresco cafes in Plaza Del Cardenal Belluga, you will have one of the best views of the awesome baroque facade of the Catherdral of Santa Maria. This must be Murcia’s showpiece and a must to see.
Terra Natura is a Safari Park and Water Park situated north of Murcia. The water park has over 700 metres of water slides while the safari park is divided into continents and features lions, bears, elephants and much, much more. This is a great day out for the whole family and shouldn’t be missed.
From June to September you can also have fun at the Aquapolis Fun Park. There are some exhilarating water slides and superb play areas.
A short drive to Benidorm will take you to the Terra Mitica Theme Park. Here you can experience white knuckle rides that will thrill you all day long. If you prefer the more sedate boat rides or carousel there are plenty or options to keep you entertained.
Murcia’s La Manga Golf Club is world famous and has been voted Europe’s top golf resort. It has three championship courses which have been the home of many international tournaments and celebrity golfing events so if you fancy a game yourself why not give this course a try?
For younger children there is also pony and horse riding centres around Murcia. There are an abuntance of swimming pools and sporting facilities as well as children’s play areas. The Condado de Alhama resort in the Oasis town centre offers an indoor play area as well as a crèche.
